THE TRUTH ABOUT BORDERS IN PRINT

At AlphaGraphics Sandy, we are all for borders, except when it comes to printing them.

Don't design projects with borders.  Here's why.

​

1. Great design does not include borders.  The edge of the sheet provides a natural border by itself, so there's no reason to add a border around the outside of the sheet.  If you do add a border around the outside of the sheet, then you are losing valuable real estate on your printed piece.

2.  The second reason not to design with borders is because printing is an imperfect art, which results in uneven borders, no matter how great the printer.
